Our vision at Bethel Community Church is to see God move in power through the people of Port Talbot and beyond. We believe that it is God’s desire to bring salvation, healing (body, mind and soul) and restoration to people’s lives, no matter what their background. We desire to be a blessing to our local community and seek to alleviate poverty and empower others.
Our Sunday Community
We meet on Sundays at 11.00am and everyone is welcome. We accept everyone, no matter whether it’s your first time through church doors, have been away from God for many years, just come out of prison, are homeless, struggling with addictions, or have been going to church for many years – you are most welcome. It is our heartfelt desire to create a loving culture at Bethel, full of God’s grace and Biblical truth and to see God’s purpose fulfilled in your life.

Through the ministry of Bethel, we work to create real disciples of Jesus Christ, men, women and children who love God and have a heart to do His work in their lives, and to go wherever He calls. To foster spiritual growth, we offer a number of bible study communities and fellowship groups (there are more to follow).

Reproducible Church Planting Model
It is our desire to raise up and train ministers to go out and plant churches to wherever God sends them. We don’t just want to be a church that grows large in number for the sake of it – we want to expand God’s kingdom beyond our own immediate community, and plan on sending out teams from within Bethel to do that as God leads. We are thrilled that Dawn Griffiths started our first plant, Bethel Community Church, Uganda, in 2020.

Prayer Ministry
We have various opportunities throughout the week for prayer including the hour of Prayer and Worship every Wednesday 4pm, and prayer is always available during the Drop-in Centre, which is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12pm to 4pm. We believe prayer is absolutely essential to see God move in power and grace in our lives and community. We also have a Healing Team who have been trained in praying for the sick and we have seen God do many wonderful miracles among us.
