FOOD BANK and FOOD COMMUNITY SHOP

Foodbank

At Bethel Trust we provide free supermarket food twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between 12pm and 3pm to members of the public struggling with food poverty. No vouchers and no questions asked, we distribute free food to families, single parents, homeless individuals and vulnerable adults on a first come, first served basis.

Our address is Bethel Community Church, Sandfields Road, Aberavon, Port Talbot. SA12 6LR. Please use the side entrance.

Food Community Shop

Alongside our Foodbank we run a Food Community Shop where clients are welcome to make a donation per bag of food. All monies generated are used to purchase food and go towards utilities. Those who can make a donation are welcome. Those who cannot afford a donation, are welcome to have the food for free.

Clients and customers are also welcome to free hot refreshments and food in our coffee shop environment.

We also offer help through our Baby bank and Debt Recovery projects. Just ask a member of staff if you'd like to know more.

During 2020, our foodbank service expanded to residents in Port Talbot and Neath. We were fortunate to secure funding which enabled us to purchase equipment, food and cover revenue expenses and were able to provide free food to between 300 and 400 people each week during the pandemic.

In partnership with Fareshare and Neighbourly, we receive surplus food every week from Tesco Port Talbot, Lidl Port Talbot, Lidl Neath Cadoxton Road, Morrisons Port Talbot and also from members of the local community.
